This was lovely to read. And you’re so right- the little things, the sometimes overlooked, can be so powerful, and God keeps reminding me of this recently. Not only sharing those little thoughts with someone you love, but also simply stopping (as you mention, closing your book and closing your eyes) and sharing that moment with God.
I was in the yard last week working on some landscaping and what felt like THE coolest breeze swept through (it probably only felt cool because it was five bajillion degrees out there and _any_ breeze was salvation, haha!) I stood up to enjoy it, watched the trees sway, listened to the birds, and watched the clouds roll. I thought “this is such a gift from God.” That tiny moment of relief from the heat, rest (if even for a minute) from shoveling dirt, and a glimpse of how God shows us he loves us through those moments, has stuck with me.
Sharing with yourself as you took the time to do is also a gift to yourself. And as always sharing with us is a gift you put out there in the universe. Beautiful! Thanks!
